The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and NAUA signed a Memorandum of Understanding to motivate and engage the youth in Jordan through volunteer work and community service.
CPF, NAUA (a CPF Initiative in cooperation with the private sector) and UNICEF will work together in developing a strategic platform that will further strengthen and promote Youth engagement and volunteerism opportunities for youth nationwide. The initiatives' aims will be achieved by launching an online platform that connects young people with organisations and institutions for volunteer opportunities.
The initiative capitalizes on the vast experience and knowledge base of NAUA, focusing on the technicalities of volunteer work and the technological aspects of the initiative. NAUA holds a high set of standards based on excellence, which will be utilized to examine the eligibility of volunteer opportunities through various associations and projects.
The MoU defines the role of each party in the development of the new platform and establishes each organization’s contribution towards promoting volunteerism through their organizations and specialized bodies, supporting active engagement of young people within their communities.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the CEO of CPF, Dr. Tamam Mango expressed her satisfaction with this new partnership, "Volunteerism in Jordan is one of the main principles at the Crown Prince Foundation and carries it at a great value, hence our Naua Initiative. The initiatives implementation aims to cover the urgent need of volunteerism at a national level.”
“This new partnership will enable the initiative to exchange experiences and knowledge between national and international entities to achieve our fundamental goal of serving Jordan, " she added.
The CEO of NAUA, Mr. Ahmad El-Zubi emphasized the vital need of cooperation and joint action between all national and international institutions specializing in volunteerism and charitable work in Jordan, as per His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince’s vision. “This partnership demonstrates the importance of Naua as a platform for volunteerism around the Kingdom. We hope this agreement will pose a positive impact locally, regionally and globally,” he stated.
UNICEF Jordan Representative Mr. Robert Jenkins stated, “We are very proud and excited about the partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation and Naua. This national initiative will expand engagement and volunteer opportunities for young women and men across the Kingdom, for their own empowerment and future prospects, and for the benefit of their communities and the country.”
